Foundayo and the contraceptive pill

Alternatively, you could change to a different method of contraception such as the implant or hormonal coil.
Possible side effects of Foundayo
Foundayo can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea,or constipation and stomach pain, particularly when starting treatment or increasing the dose. It is important to drink enough fluids, particularly if you have vomiting or diarrhoea, to reduce the risk of dehydration. Eating smaller meals, and avoiding large or fatty meals may also help.
Other possible side effects include bloating, burping, acid reflux, wind, headache, dizziness, tiredness, hair loss, gallstones, low blood pressure and an increased heart rate.
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop severe and persistent abdominal pain, particularly if it spreads to your back, as this could be due to inflammation of the pancreas.
You should also seek medical advice urgently for symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, sudden changes in your vision or severe dehydration.
For complete information, read the Patient Information Leaflet supplied with your medication.
Patient Information Leaflet
The Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) is the leaflet included in the pack with a medicine and must be read before taking the medicine. It is written for patients and gives information about taking or using a medicine.
Frequently Asked Questions
How effective is Foundayo for weight loss?
Clinical studies have shown that orforglipron can produce significant weight loss when combined with changes to diet and physical activity.
In a 72-week study of adults with obesity or overweight, average weight loss was approximately 8% to 12% of starting body weight, depending on the dose studied, compared with approximately 1% with placebo (dummy tablets).
These results are averages and do not predict how much weight an individual will lose, as this is influenced by starting weight, treatment dose, eating habits and physical activity.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Foundayo?
There is no specific restriction on drinking alcohol while taking Foundayo. However, alcohol can worsen side effects such as nausea and indigestion and is high in calories, which may make weight loss more difficult. Drinking large amounts of alcohol can also increase the risk of pancreatitis.
What happens when I reach my target weight?
Once you reach your target weight, your treatment and dose should be reviewed. A lower dose may be appropriate to help maintain your weight, alongside continuing changes to diet and physical activity. The dose should be reviewed regularly and may be reduced further or treatment stopped. Taking Foundayo long term may help maintain weight loss and reduce the risk of weight regain.
