They point out that fake medicines \u201coften contain the wrong level of active ingredient \u2013 too little, too much or none at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fake medicines are often expertly packaged. The consumer would have no way of knowing what they were taking. The only way to know what is in a medicine, is to have them properly tested in a laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some fake medicines have been found to <a href=\"https:\/\/safemedsonline.org\/2013\/07\/top-poisons-found-in-counterfeit-drugs\/\">contain toxic substances<\/a> such as rat poison, antifreeze, floor wax, brick dust, and commercial wall paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes the drug which arrives, is actually <a href=\"https:\/\/safemedsonline.org\/2013\/07\/top-poisons-found-in-counterfeit-drugs\/\">not the drug<\/a> you asked for. As a result they seized more than one million doses of fake medicines, worth over \u00a32 million.
