Natural hormone tablets for jet lag
Regulations prevent us from naming the prescription medication we supply for jet lag because it is licensed in the UK only as a short term treatment for insomnia, but not for jet lag. It is, however, used throughout the world to treat jet lag.
About jet lag
The body produces a natural hormone called melatonin, the level of which goes up and down in a cycle over each day. Melatonin regulates sleep and wakefulness. Boosting the amount of this hormone in the body in the evening reduces jet lag.
Treatment to boost levels is used by regular and occasional travellers and has been used by the military.
When a flight crosses time zones the body clock takes a few days to catch up. People often find they cannot sleep at night and are tired in the day. They may want to eat at the wrong times and have reduced energy in the day.
Jet lag can be unpleasant at any age. It tends be worse in older people. Studies on the use of the natural hormone for the treatment of jet lag.
