ThanksDr provides reliable and realistic medical advice at your convenience. NHS appointments are short and even with the best care being provided there will be times when you have questions that haven't been addressed. That's where ThanksDr can help.

With ThanksDr you can take as long as you need to express yourself to the doctor; to explain your real fears and concerns. The answers are provided by our excellent team of GPs and specialists. Our online doctors are all carefully selected to make sure your answers are provided by knowledgeable professionals who understand how the NHS works. Our doctors have all trained in the UK and have been registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) for at least seven years, many for substantially longer.

When you ask a medical question it will be answered within 24 hours but 50% of our questions are answered within an hour. You can continue a dialogue with the doctor online until you are happy that you have understood everything and choose to finish the conversation. Many of our users read and re-read their responses sometimes weeks later to remind themselves what was said.

We take patient privacy very seriously and keep the questions confidential by making them almost anonymous (we only keep a username or email address and the doctors do not even see these). The service is available to UK patients only, although anyone can freely browse our archived medical questions and answers. Patients can opt to not have their question published, although it is anonymous.
